If you are going to commit to it, stop bitching about it

I have been catching up on a blogger that I was following recently. A person I have the utmost respect for because without her insight and her fortitude throughout the past year we, as parents would not have the information that we have about school lunches and basically the CRAP that the education system serves our children.

I have packed my dughters lunch every single day since she started Kindergarten 5 years ago. She gets her sandwich and her sweet, her juice and her water, her fruit and her veg. though more often than not she brings back her veg as perfect as it left the house.

I will admit that the reason for my deciding to pack my daughters lunch everyday had nothing to do with nutrition. It had to do with I was not going to pay $2.25 for a lunch that I KNEW my daughter and her finickiness would not eat. At least with me packing a lunch I would be able to put into it things I know would be healthy and I know she would like.

BUT what gets me right now is the complaints. I work too. I was a teacher for 5 years. It may not be what I do now but it is my trade. It is NOT my calling. Which is why I do not do it any more. But in my current profession I put in quite a few hours at a job that I am good at. I work hard. I work a lot and I have limited time with my family. But the time I spend with my family is quality. I make sure that my family is taken care of and protected. I make sure that my family is eating what they like and what is good for them. My family comes first above all else.

If you didn't want to commit to packing a lunch for your child then good Lord don't continuously try and make yourself to be someone you are not.
